A new £60m grants scheme where farmers can bid for cash to buy new farm equipment has been announced today by the government (7th February 2018).
What can I apply for?
There is a long list of items that are eligible. Some of the items are specific to dairy farmers such as specialist foot trimming crushes and calving detectors, but there are a range of items which both livestock and arable farmers might find useful, such as seed drills and EID devices.
How do I apply?
Apply online to the Countryside Productivity Small Grant Scheme, requesting a grant between £3,000 and £12,000 towards the costs of farm equipment. NOTE the scheme is open for applications between 7th February and 14th March 2018. You will need to fill in your application form on line and sign up to the terms and conditions of the scheme. You will then be emailed after the date that the funding round closes to let you know if your application has been approved. When you receive this email you can purchase your items.
After you’ve purchased all your items, you can claim your money.
