The South Devon Coastal LAG is now open for applications!

South Devon Coastal Local Action Group (LAG) is a partnership originally set up in 2008 to invest in economic, environmental and community based projects to encourage innovation and promote the prosperity of the rural coastal area between Plymouth and Exeter.

We are delighted to have been awarded just over £1.5 million to allocate to projects in the area that meet the objectives of the strategy.

The focus of this next rural programme will be creating jobs and helping the rural economy to grow, with the main areas for support being:-

  • Farming – support for farm diversification / increasing productivity
  • Forestry – support for increasing productivity and processing
  • Enterprise – creation or development of micro and small businesses
  • Tourism / Rural Services / Cultural & Heritage activity

The full Local Development Strategy can be accessed here.

How do we apply?

Firstly check whether your project is within the South Devon Coastal LAG area

If so, then you need to register your project idea with us here

A copy of the applicant handbook is available here SDC LAG Handbook and you can view a pdf copy of the SD Coastal LAG_booklet here.

To ensure you are kept informed regarding the latest updates, please check back here or follow us on Twitter.

PLEASE NOTE – because of the  number of processes we have to carry out, and the time needed to build up a good strong full application, we would advise that you plan approximately 12 weeks for the whole process from drafting your initial outline to receiving the funding decision.
Unfortunately we cannot make exceptions or take short-cuts for projects,  and those that do not submit the required information on or before a deadline will be deferred until the next funding round.
