At DR, we manage two Local Action Group programmes in Devon as well as providing help to numerous other programmes across the region. This includes writing the initial strategies to access funding, managing overall budgets, setting up the application processes for projects in line with EU requirements, providing help and support to applicants, reviewing applications, providing expert and technical advice to the volunteers who sit on the Local Action Groups, monitoring project and programme progress, dealing with claims for funding and providing all formal reporting to Defra.
Greater Dartmoor LEAF covers Dartmoor and the surrounding area, and South Devon Coastal LAG covers the coastal area from Plymouth round to Dawlish (excluding Torbay) and including the Western side of the Exe estuary. These two programmes are funded under the Rural Development Programme for England, and are designed to support the rural economy in these areas.
We have been awarded a total of £3.5 million to invest in Greater Dartmoor LEAF and South Devon Coastal LAG for 2015-2020. Both programmes are now open for funding applications.
