The Dartmoor Business Network last month hosted a funding tips and advice workshop run by the the DR Company and held at the Two Bridges Hotel, Princetown. Nineteen businesses and individuals from the Dartmoor area took part in this interactive workshop which explored the types of funding currently available as well tips and advice for making successful funding applications.
The DR Company, who are based in Okehampton, have over ten years experience in providing business support and advice to paying clients. They also specialise in running large funding programmes having previously completed the delivery of over £3.8m of funding to the local area, helping hundreds of rural businesses to start up or develop. The DR Company are now inviting applications for the Greater Dartmoor Local Enterprise Action Fund 2015-2020, which has over £1.5m available to allocate to eligible businesses and projects.
“This is a great opportunity for Dartmoor businesses,” says Linda Emmett, Project Adviser for DR, “the fund is looking to support sectors as diverse as forestry, farming, enterprise, cultural heritage and tourism, and while applying for funding can seem daunting, we at DR have a proven track record in helping people through their applications. We assign each applicant a Project Adviser who can guide you personally through the process.”
Guidance throughout the GD LEAF application is a part of the package DR provide for GD LEAF applicants, but DR can also, independently of the funding, provide fee-based bid writing, project management and other business services.
