Meet the Team

Liz Abell, Managing Director

Liz has worked at the DR Company since 2005, and leads on the management of funding programmes, research projects and business development. She is also a qualified ISO assessor and has many years of specialist survey and statistical experience.

Anne Sherman, Finance Manager

Anne leads our financial team, both to provide financial support and guidance to others for their projects and businesses, and to oversee our own finances and those of our funding programmes.

Sophie Price, Project Advisor

Sophie has led on a number of grant funds since 2006, and is now the main project officer for our funding streams.  She also provides advice and support to businesses and is a qualified SFEDI mentor.

Ann Murray, Office Manager

Ann is the lynchpin of our office, ensuring that all of our administration services run smoothly. She also provides support to funding programmes and other projects.

Tim Beavon, Project Manager

With over 25 years experience in local economic and community development Tim has key skills in partnership working, community engagement and project management, alongside specialist expertise in developing and implementing strategies and programmes for the improvement of the local economy.

Carol Trant, Project Advisor

Carol is a former economic development officer with experience in working with a diverse range of businesses across different sectors of industry.  She has particularly enjoyed specialising in regeneration programmes and project development.

Linda Emmett, Project Advisor

Linda has been working in Devon and Cornwall since 2005, latterly as the manager of the East Cornwall Local Action Group. She has a background in information and knowledge management, and has wide experience in a variety of sectors.

 

Janet Herniman, Project Advisor

Janet has been delivering rural business support across Devon since 2007, helping businesses grow and start.  She is an associate member of IAgSA and is a SFEDI qualified business advisor and mentor with rural business and farming experience.

Melvyn Hicks, Project Support

Melvyn assists the Project Advisors by providing administrative support on ongoing projects. He also undertakes associated housekeeping tasks and reviews process compliance issues.
